Calculation of the Transport Properties of 4He/H2 System from Intermolecular Potential Energy Using Inversion Method

An iterative inversion method is used to obtain the interaction potential energy of He+H2 system from a semi-empirical correlating functions for binary diffusion coefficients of helium/hydrogen isotope mixtures. The Lennard-Jones (12 – 6) potential energy function is used as the initial model potential required by the technique. The inverted interaction potential of He+H2 is in the best agreement with those obtained by others. Intermolecular potential energy from the inversion procedure reproduces viscosities, diffusion coefficients, and thermal diffusion factors within experimental accuracy.
