Faraday Rotation in Organic Molecules, Polymers and Supramolecular Structures
Thierry Verbiest and Andre Persoons

Faraday rotation is the rotation of the plane of polarization of light due to magnetically induced circular birefringence. The effect was discovered by Michael Faraday in 1843 and it is now used in a wide range of applications, with optical isolators and magnetic field sensors probably the most important ones.
