No NEPCO effect in the pressure dependence of the Curie temperature of spinel-type VCo2O4
Syuzo Tamura

A condition for the NEPCO effect (ie a negative pressure derivative of the Curie temperature for magnetic oxides) for VCo2O4 predicts that this spinel-type magnetic oxide has a positive pressure derivative of the Curie temperature. From the present study, it is confirmed that this prediction is true. TC/K = (171.9 ± 0.09) + (6.0 + 0.1)p/GPa, and TH/K = (160.13 ± 0.08) + (5.79 ± 0.08)p/GPa, for a furnace-cooled sample;TC/K = (159.33 ± 0.07) + (4.2 ± 0.1)p/GPa, and TH/K = (158.04 ± 0.09) + (4.3 ± 0.1)p/GPa, for a quenched sample, where TC is the Curie temperature, TH is the Hopkinson temperature, and p is pressure.
