Pressure dependence of the melting point of pressure-transmitting media (1-pentene and methanol–ethanol) obtained by permittivity measurements up to 2 GPa

The anomaly in the permittivity at the melting point of four pressure-transmitting media at high pressure and low temperature has been measured with a piston – cylinder apparatus. The melting point, Tm, thus derived varied with pressure, p (below 2 GPa), as follows:
