Factors affecting the application of coatings on superalloys
Elena Campagnoli, Giuseppe Ruscica

An experimental investigation has been carried out to evaluate the effect of coating applications on superalloys. The aim was to find a high-temperature resistant multilayer system that can successfully be used in the construction of combustion chambers and gas turbine blades. The superalloys investigated are Hastelloy X and Haynes, the bond coat is A995, and the ceramic coating material used is zirconia partially stabilised with 8 wt% yttria.
