Deformation and failure behaviour of thermomechanically loaded C/C-SiC

Tests with specimens of different size and geometry under uniaxial tension and compression, and also under multiaxial combined tension – torsion loading, have been performed at ambient temperature as well as at 1600 °C. A considerable size and geometry effect on rupture strength was found.
