Thermal diffusivity of the contact zones of bimetals manufactured by the explosion welding technique

A description is given of the new experimental method of thermal diffusivity measurements of solids based on the method of almost plane temperature waves combined with the method of laser modulation ellipsometry. The experimental error of the thermal diffusivity measurements was less than 5%. The experimental setup and techniques for thermal diffusivity measurements of the bimetals Nb – Ta, Mo – Ta, Mo – W, and the metals niobium, tantalum, molybdenum, and tungsten at 300 K are presented.
