Calculation of the thermal expansion of caesium and rubidium by using an analytical equation of state

An analytical equation of state for liquids derived from surface tension and liquid density at the normal boiling point (γb, ρb) as scaling constants is applied to the calculation of thermal expansion (αp) over the temperature range 600 – 1000 K for caesium and 700 – 1000 K for rubidium. The agreement with experimental values is within 6%.
