Volume and pressure dependence of thermal expansion coefficient for solids: NaCl as an example

Our theory on the volume and pressure dependence of the Grüneisen parameter γ, derived from the Grüneisen relation, gives a new computing formula for the volume and pressure dependence of the thermal expansion coefficient. The calculated results are in good agreement with experimental data for NaCl.
