Study of near-critical states of liquid – vapor phase transition of metals by isentropic expansion method of shock-compressed porous sample
Andrey N. Emelyanov

Shock compression of porous metals and the near-critical point states following isentropic expansion and registration of brightness temperatures enables to define borders of two-phase region, and to carry out estimation of critical point parameters (temperature and pressure). The experiments on the isentropic expansion of shocked samples with various initial porosities were carried out. The estimation of the critical point parameters (temperature and pressure) of the liquid – vapor phase transition of tungsten was obtained.

Keywords: Critical point, liquid-vapor phase transition, tungsten, shock wave.
