Natural Computing and Artificial Chemistry
Kazuto Tominaga

Natural computing refers both to computing by natural systems and to regarding natural phenomena as computation. We model several natural systems including biochemical pathways and DNA computing with our artificial chemistry based on pattern matching and recombination, and observe interesting properties of natural computing that could be different from the traditional one, including that non-terminating computation may be meaningful and that computation may encompass real-world components.

Keywords: Natural computing, artificial chemistry.
