Chaos in Digital Filters

This paper reports and studies the chaotic phenomena observed in digital filters with an adder overflow nonlinearity. Computer simulations show that the non-linear digital filter is actually a chaotic dynamical system whose trajectories exhibit fractal geometry patterns.
