Intersymbol Interference Characteristics of Bandwidth Constrained Communication Channel

The paper deals with the problem of the digital wireless communication over band-limited channels most notably telephone channel. The design of adaptive filters for mitigating Intersymbol Interference (ISI) is presented. The performance of adaptive equalizer is studied using computer simulation using “C” language under MS-DOS environment. The comparison is made using two communication channels with different step-size and noise variance. The simulation results are included.
