A Generic Canonical OTA-C Universal Filter
Mohd. Samar Ansari and Iqbal A. Khan

Despite the wealth of literature on operational transconductance amplifier (OTA)-C filters, the synthesis of high-order filter characteristics is still an active topic. Continuing this endeavor, the present paper presents a generic and universal filter structure based on the OTA-C approach capable of generating filter functions of any order. The component count is the minimum amongst all the structures reported till date whilst maintaining the full functionality of the universal filter, and hence, a canonical realization. Apart from the circuit being simpler to design, the proposed architecture is also attractive from chip area and power consumption point of view. Simulation results verifying the theoretical analysis of the proposed filter structure are included.
