Numerical Investigation on the Sediment Transport Trend of Can Gio Coastal Area (Southern Vietnam)

We suggest a mathematical model to simulate the sediment transport under current effects by tides and winds. The model is based on a system of Reynolds equation coupled with sediment transport and mass conservation equations. In applying this model on the coastal zone of Can Gio mangrove forest (South East of Vietnam), we obtained the numerical results showing the trend of sediment accretion and erosion in this area and they are qualitatively in agreement with the satellite observations.
