ISRS Guideline of Radiosurgery Project

The ISRS society has initiated a pilot project to create guidelines for common indications for both brain and spine radiosurgery. This project is supported by the officers and all the current 2014 board members are involved to ensure success of the pilot program. A selected guideline leader, who was selected from the members of ISRS, and the sponsoring board member will form an international study group for each project to conduct the study and write a systematic review. Ultimate recommendations will be endorsed by the board and presented at ISRS 2017. If this project is successful, then a formal committee and process will be created to continue new guidelines and update the existing guidelines. This academic activity of the society will promote the evidence- and expert-based practice for radiosurgery and SBRT.

The first cohort of 10 guideline projects includes:

  • Radiosurgery for epilepsy
  • Radiosurgery for Tremor
  • Radiosurgery for trigeminal neuralgia
