Thermal Conduction in One Dimensional Structures Heated by Ultra-Short Laser Pulses
Janina Marciak-Kozlowska and Miroslaw Kozolwski

In this paper, following the hyperbolic heat transport equation and Pauli-Heinsenberg inequality, we show that for one dimensional heat transport, heat conductivity c, behaves as c ~ L1/3 where L is the dimension of the structure. When ultra-short laser pulses heats a 1D nanostructure (such as a DNA strand) the heat current diverges as L-2/3.
