Application of a Laser Displacement Sensor for Measuring the Separation Parameters of a Pyrotechnic Separator

The application of a laser displacement sensor has been successfully demonstrated to be a method for measuring the separation parameters of a pyrotechnic separator. Test results have shown that the new method is not only good at measuring separation time, but also an indirect way to analyse and evaluate pyrotechnic separator’s characters of separation velocity, separation acceleration and separation impulse.
