Doubly Q-switched nd:YVo4 Laser with Acoustic-optic Q-switching and Passive Q-switching

In this paper a doubly Q-switched 1.06 μm Nd:YVO4 pulse laser with acoustic-optic (AO) Q-switch and Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber passive Q-switch was demonstrated. The pulse width was compressed from 22.6 to 17.5 ns and the pulse peak power was increased from 3.92 to 4.17 kW for the doubly Q-switched laser when compared with the acoustic-optics Q-switched laser at the conditions of incident pump power of 12 W and repetition rate of 50 kHz.
