Notebook Selection with the Combination of FAHP and PROMETHEE Methods
Nilsen Kundakci

In recent years, decision making in firms has become a difficult task because of uncertain decision environment. Giving effective and right decisions is crucial for firms in order to survive in competitive markets. The aim of this study is to propose an approach for supporting decision making process in firms. In order to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed approach, a notebook selection problem of a manufacturing firm is given. This approach is based on the combination of FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) and PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Enrichment Evaluations) methods. In this approach the priority weights of the criteria are determined by FAHP since conventional AHP can not take into consideration the subjectivity and uncertainty in the decision making process. Then PROMETHEE method is applied for ranking the notebook alternatives. By the help of this approach, decision makers can make more convincing and accurate decisions.
