Model-Centered Learning and Instruction: Comments on Seel (2003)

Seel’s paper, “Model-Centered Learning and Instruction” (Seel, 2003), adds importantly to the discussion trying to relate descriptive constructs like mental model and schema to instructional design principles. The paper raises several important issues, and in this response I will try to relate some of them together into a larger pattern from a design viewpoint.
