Thermophysical properties of soil compounds from the farmland of Assiut University in Egypt
M Saad Mostafa

The thermophysical properties (thermal diffusivity, a, specific heat, cp, and thermal conductivity, λ) of soil compounds have been studied in the temperature range from room temperature to 600K. The temperature dependences of the thermophysical properties are discussed. The results indicate that thermal conduction depends on electronic and lattice vibration. Also, the thermal values lie in the range of semirefractory and insulating materials. The results were supported by different analyses, including chemical analysis, x-ray analysis, differential thermal analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis.
