Enhanced Hi-Lo Microstrip Lowpass Filter Using Nonuniform Defected Ground Structure (DGS) Slots

Nonuniform DGS slots, which have different bandgap performances, are used to design high- and low-impedance(Hi-Lo) microstrip lowpass filters(LPFs) in this letter. Simulation and measurements show the use of nonuniform DGS slots improve the stopband performance of LPF with compact size.
