NARMA L2 Controller for a Generic SISO WEG Model: Performance Evaluation for Different Cases to Control Maximum Power
Sunita Chahar and D. K. Yadav

For a variable speed wind energy generator (VSWEG), the control objective of a controller is to harvest maximum power at fast-changing wind speed under unpredictable conditions. In this paper, the NARMA L2 controller-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy is introduced. The proposed model is designed as a generic single input single output (SISO) WEG structure that can be applied under different wind patterns as well as with any type of wind generator. To prove the better performance of the designed controller by setting suitable parameters, a comparison is made with the conventional Perturbation and observation PO scheme. Simulation evaluation is presented in terms of tracking performance, minimum means square error(MSErr), and maximum power extraction under uncertain, steady or fast-changing wind speeds.
