Realization of Four Phase Sinusoidal Quadrature Oscillator using Operational Amplifier

A simple sinusoidal quadrature oscillator (SQO) realized with operational amplifier (OA) is presented. The circuit provides four phase quadrature outputs of equal magnitudes. The negative feedback utilized in the operational amplifier results in frequency and distortion performances that are superior to similar systems based on current conveyors. The proposed oscillator has the advantages of low cost, low component count, low sensitivities and buffered outputs. The circuit also enjoys the advantage of independent control of oscillator frequency and the condition of oscillations. Simulation results are included to verify the theory.
