Universal Biquadratic Filter Using a Single Current Conveyor
P. Kumar and K. Pal

A new voltage-mode second order universal filter with three inputs and one output employing a single current conveyor (CCII-), two resistors and two capacitors is presented in this paper. The proposed configuration can realize all the standard filter functions i.e., low pass, high pass, band pass, notch and all-pass filters, using a single active element (CCII-), minimum number of passive components, simple matching conditions and low active and passive sensitivity performance. The CCII- is replaceable by a translinear CCII- and in that case it uses only three passive components. The presented biquad has biggest advantage that it can realise all filter functions with a non-ideal CCII- also. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical one.
