The 46th International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic (ISMVL 2016) was held at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan, in the period of May 18-20, 2016. Symposium Chair was Takahiro Hanyu (Tohoku University) and Program Chair was Yasushi Yuminaka (Gunma University). The total number of the presentations at the symposium was 49, including 4 Keynote Addresses.
This is a special issue consisting of four papers selected from the papers presented at ISMVL 2016. Each paper is an extended and/or revised version of the paper presented at the symposium. Note that the selection was made for, more or less, mathematically oriented papers.
