Photovoltaic Behaviour of Non-Fluorescent Metal-Free Phthalocyanines
Danuta Wrobel, Andrzej Boguta, ALeksandra Wojcik and Rodica M. Ion

The photoelectric and electric properties of two newly synthesized metal-free phthalocyanines when substituted with short and long alkyl chains dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide are reported. The influence of the dye aggregation on photocurrent generation by dyes immersed in a photoelectrochemical cell based on In2O3 or SnO2 electrodes is examined. The participation of the dye singlet and triplet states in charge separation process is discussed and the model of the energetical scheme of the photoelectrochemical cell and dye singlet/triplet states is proposed.
