Operator Equations of Motion in an Open Quantum Model System vs. Thermodynamics
V. Capek and O. Frege

Frenkel exciton diffusion flow going, as always diffusion flows do, in the direction of decreasing concentration may go, owing to different site energies, even against moderate temperature steps. This may lead to spontaneous heat flows in the same direction challenging the Second law of thermodynamics in the Clausius formulation. This trivial physical reasoning is supported here by the operator equation of motion method, avoiding thus recent objections against the Davies theory.
