Investigation of Nonlinear Refraction in Sapphire Doped Copper Nanoparticles by the Reflective Z-scan Technique

In this paper the results of investigation of nonlinear refraction process in composite materials based on sapphire doped copper nanoparticles are presented using reflection Z-scan technique. Using the fundamental wavelength of Nd:YAG laser radiation (l…=1064 nm) the nonlinear refractive indices and the real parts of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility were measured. The possible mechanisms of nonlinear refraction are discussed.
