Highly Efficient Two-Photon Absorbing Chromophores Based on Phenyleneethynylene Moieties

We have synthesized five phenyleneethynylene (EPS) derivatives substituted as the p-center which having various electron donating group as an end group. Their linear optical properties were measured with UV/vis and PL spectroscopy. The two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-sections of EPS series were ranged from 960 to 5219 GM (cm-4 sec/photon molecule) at around 700 nm using fluorescence method.
