Theory of Mie Scattered Second Harmonic Generation

Theory of Mie scattering has been extended to nonlinear optical (NLO) regime and optical second harmonic generation (SHG) is investigated with due consideration being given to surface and propagation effects. The experimental results available in literature for quartz and ZnO powder samples have been found to agree well with our theoretical calculations. More interestingly, the theory predicts that diamino diphenyl sulphone (DADS) and diamino diphenyl methane(DADM)are non phase-matchable materials like Quartz.
