Soliton Scattering In Optical Lattice and Multistability
Preeti Agarwal and A. Roy Chowdhury

Scattering of solitons in an optical lattice is studied with the help of projection operator technique. The evolution of the initial gaussian profiles is analysed with the help of the dynamical equations so generated. It is observed that the characteristics of scattering change quite significantly with the depth of the lattice and the coupling of the waves. The system also shows important dependence on the period of the lattice. As an outcome of our analysis we are also able to ascertain the existence of multi-stability and bifurcating nature in the parameter-wave vector plane.
