Second Harmonic Generation in Glassy Films of Tetra-aminodiphenyl

Second harmonic generation in tetra-aminodiphenyl films, obtained by thermal evaporation in vacuum, has been investigated. The components of second-order susceptibility tensor were obtained experimentally. The components of molecular hyperpolarizability tensor were calculated using the quantum chemical method. Obtained second-order susceptibility and molecular hyperpolarizability tensors were used for the determination of the molecular orientation in the film. The observed film nonlinearity is accounted for the formation of the fibre textured structure.
