An Analytical Approach for the Generation of THz Radiation by the Interaction of q-Gaussian Lasers in a Varied Density Plasma
Dipender Singh and Harjit Singh Ghotra
This paper presents comprehensive analytics on the formation of terahertz (THz) radiation through the interactions of q-Gaussian laser beams in a density varied plasma. The distinct characteristics of q-Gaussian beams, characterized by their non-linear intensity profiles and adjustable q-parameters, are explored to understand their interactions within a spatially modulated plasma medium exhibiting density variations. By employing a perturbative approach, we derive the governing equations that describe the non-linear optical processes, including ponderomotive force and current density, which lead to the emergence of terahertz radiation. Such interaction of the laser beams with the density plasma introduces significant modifications in the local electron density, leading to enhanced non-linear effects. The results demonstrate that q-Gaussian beams, due to their tailored intensity distributions, can significantly enhance the efficiency of THz radiation generation compared to conventional Gaussian beams.
