Secure Cross Layer Energy Supplementing Adhoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (SCES-AOMDV) Routing Protocol for Energy Efficient Design of Wireless Sensor Networks
Boobalan. J and Malleswaran. M

Secure communication with efficient energy consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a challenging process. The existing security schemes compromises energy consumption due to their design and computational complexity to achieve reliable data transmission. In this paper, a novel energy efficient adaptive security aware routing mechanism “Secure Cross layer Energy Supplementing Adhoc on-demand Multipath Distance Vector (SCES-AOMDV) routing protocol for energy efficient design of WSN” is proposed. Security attacks arise at any layer in the protocol stack during transmission. The limitations of traditional layered approaches can be overcome by developing a cross layering technique for direct communication between non adjacent layers to arrive at an optimum solution. The proposed cross layer approach formulates a novel One Time Password (OTP) verification mechanism to secure the network against Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks for achieving maximized Network Lifetime (NL). The proposed SCES-AOMDV routing protocol localize the nodes with novel swarm intelligence algorithm which is named as “Hybrid Tunicate Weighted Salp Swarm algorithm (HyTWSSA)” for obtaining the best position of the sensor nodes. Simulations are performed and compared with Crosslayer-RSA, BiHCLR and CL-NDRECT. The empirical results show that the proposed SCES-AOMDV outperforms the conventional methods and reduce the harm of DoS attacks and maximize the network lifetime.
