This paper presents a novel realization method for a Digital-to-Analog converter (DAC) called the Relaxation DAC (ReDAC), which leverages inter-symbol interference in the response waveform of an RC low-pass filter. The ReDAC allows serial digital data to be converted into analog values using a simple circuit configuration. We consider the operating speed of the ReDAC and its application to multiple-input adders, and propose a new technique for applying the ReDAC to the analog conversion of multi-valued serial data.
