Corporate Strategies and Sustainability in the Packaging Industry: A Linguistic Assessment Applying Experts Theory

During the last decades, many companies around the world have had to adapt their operations to a current situation of greater commitment or suffer the risks that bad social or environmental practices could cause, for which they have been in the situation of generating business strategies that allow the coexistence of business profitability and environmental and social care, that is, to be more sustainable. The objective of this document is to analyze the added value of the opinions of different groups of experts in the packaging industry in Mexico to contrast and quantify the difference that exists between their opinions on business sustainability and strategic management. To achieve the proposed objective, a survey was carried out on 63 companies in the packaging industry and the results were treated through the method of expertise and counter expertise. The main results present 100 mathematical expectations, in four groups of Expertons, showing greater similarity between groups 1 and 3 Wood and Cardboard and 2 and 4 Plastic and Textile, Glass and Metal with 0.071 distance between groups.
