Lasers in Spectroscopy

A review on application of lasers in different spectroscopic techniques has been presented. Emphasis is put on explaining the basic physics of the various phenomena while minimizing the mathematics. Particularly resonance ionization spectroscopy, Raman scattering and Brillouin scattering have been discussed in detail. As a special case SRS and SBS in fourth state of matter i.e., plasma also have been discussed.
