Propagation Characteristics of Quadruple-Gaussian Laser Beams in Periodic Lattice of Metallic Nanoparticles
Theoretical investigation on propagation characteristics of Quadruple-Gaussian (Q.G) Laser beams interacting with periodic lattice of metallic nanoparticles has been presented. Numerical solution of the nonlinear Schrodinger wave equation (NSWE) for the field of incident laser beam has been obtained with the help of moment theory approach. Particularly self-focusing and self-phase modulation of the laser beam have been investigated in detail. Emphasis is also put on self-trapping of the laser beam resulting from the balance between diffraction broadening and nonlinear refraction of the laser beam.
